Advent and Christmas are a special time at St Luke’s. We celebrate the birth of our Saviour Jesus Christ. Please join us to celebrate the “reason for the season”, at our Advent and Christmas services.

The Adventure of Christmas is a journey through advent for the whole family created by Faith In Kids. If you would like to find out about the Adventure of Christmas and have an Advent Calendar or book  please pop into church.

Family Scratch Nativity Service - Sunday 5th December

Time: 10:30 am

Join us for our family nativity service to re-tell the Christmas story together. From the youngest to the oldest, everyone can dress up and take part in our scratch nativity. 

 

Advent Window Trail - Sunday 6th - Sunday 19th December

Join in and follow the Christmas story around the roads close to St Luke’s church. We have 11 Christmas windows to find and a wordsearch to fill in with the chance of winning a prize. We hope this activity that everyone can enjoy.

Who can join in?
This event is open to everyone. Adults, kids, friends and relatives are all welcomed to join in

When can I do it?
You can do the trail anytime between the 6-19th of December. This can be done during the daytime and windows will be lit
between 4 and 6pm each evening

How long does it take?
approximately 15 – 30mins

How do I follow the trail?
Just download our Advent trail map and follow the directions

Do I need to do the trail to complete the wordsearch and what do I do after I finished it?The wordsearch can be done without doing the trail. Once you have finished the wordsearch post it in the church post box on Ryfold Road.

When will the winner be announced?
A winner will be picked and announced at St Luke’s Christmas Day Family Service (10.30am).

Morning Service - Sunday 12th December

Time: 10:30 am

Our morning service has a traditional feel with a mix of teaching,  worship,  prayers and organ based hymns and contemporary songs that lasts for about 1 hour. This is a family service for all ages.

 

Contemporary Carols - Sunday 12th December

Time: 6:00PM

Join us for an uplifting night contemporary carols to remember what’s at the very heart of the Christmas story at this special time of year. Suitable for everyone.

Candlelight Service with Choir Carols - Sunday 19th December

Time: 7:00 PM

Join us for an uplifting night of traditional carols by candlelight to remember what’s at the very heart of the Christmas story at this special time of year. Suitable for adults and children over the age of 10.

Crib service - Friday 24th December

Time: 4:00 pm

Our Children’s Crib Service is  suitable for younger children their parents. This service tells the Christmas story in a fun and friendly way.

A warm and friendly way to start Christmas! All are welcome.

Christmas Eve service with Holy Communion - Friday 24th December

Time: 6:00 pm

Join us for our traditional and reflective service of Holy Communion, as we prepare for the good news that is to come on Christmas Day.

 

Christmas Day service with Holy Communion - Saturday 25th December

Time: 10:30 am

This service is for all ages. There will be carols,  prayers, bible readings and Holy Communion.
