“The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world”
Advent and Christmas are a special time at St Luke’s. We celebrate the birth of our Saviour Jesus Christ. Please join us to celebrate the “reason for the season”, at our Advent and Christmas services.
To help you plan your visit we have included our special services below:

Christingle Service - Monday 2nd December
Time: 6:30 pm
This is one of our favourite events of the year for the children. If you have attended a Christingle service before you will already know what a beautiful service this is. If you have never attended one, let us briefly explain you what this is all about.
Our Christingle service is a family friendly service which lasts around 40 minutes and where each child will receive a Christingle and sing Christmas Carols. The ‘Christingle’, which symbolises the light of Christ’s love, is made up of 4 parts:
- an orange which represents the world
- a candle represents Jesus the light of the world
- a red ribbon or tape which goes all round the orange to remind us of Jesus death on the cross
- 4 cocktail sticks, each bearing dried fruits or sweets represent the 4 seasons and the fruits of the earth.
There is also foil but this is only there to catch waxy drips from the candle 🙂
